Waiting and Trying

The Top-Down Raglan Cardi has been drying on the blocking board for two days now, and it is still damp. Although there have been some light showers, the weather really isn't too wet. I guess I didn't squeeze out enough moisture before I put it on the board.

While waiting, I started the next TKA project - "Reading-in-Bed Shrug" from IK Spring 2007. Knowing this project was coming, I picked up two balls of Lang Venezia when LYS Creative Hands had a sale a few weeks ago. The gauge was exactly the same as the suggested yarn GGH Soft Kid, and I love the color. Blue and purple is one of my favorite color combinations.

I am not sure if it's due to the higher acrylic content (50% acrylic and 50% mohair), the swatch felt a bit stiff. The stitches were uneven, and the color variation just seems to interfere with the lace pattern. I just did not like how it turned out. Well, off I went to another LYS to see if I can find GGH Soft Kid.

Aaahhh, now that's better. Soft and feminine, and yet you can still see the stitch patterns.

You really like Lt. Blue, eh? Didn't you have one crocheted shrug in lt. blue?? Anyway, love this Soft kid you chose, I thought about making one too, maybe tomorrow I'll go to Knitche, I gotta put some stamps on my "yarning" card.

I am using GGH Soft Kid as well! I love how soft it is but do you think it sheds too much?

I wasn't too happy with my result, either because I used the same composition as the first yarn you used.
But I finished it anyway, I don't really want to rip it out. Don't have time to knit as is. :(

To 桔寶寶:

To Tcknit:
Hehe... I almost forgot I already made a lace shrug in baby blue too, in Filatura Di Crosa Mirto. I know, I can't resist any baby blues, but it has to be the right shade. Let me know if you found any goodies at Knitche.

To Annie:
I still like both colors, it's just the results look so different. Lang Venezia was a bit disappointing. Now I need to find another project for it...

To Skinheaded Princess:
I love GGH Soft Kid! I am already thinking about getting more for future projects. As far as shedding, mine seems to be okay. I didn't notice too much shedding.

To Margaret:
I never liked acrylic yarns, I guess I love the colors so much that I overlooked the compositions. I probably will not buy yarns with too much acrylic in it after this. Maybe you can make another one with a different yarn when you have more time?!

Hello,

I am finishing a beautiful lace pattern sweater in Mirto by Filatura di Crosa. Only problem is I am a bit short of the yarn, which I purchased years ago. I am looking for less than 1 skein of color 11, lot 10. Would you happen to have any leftovers that you would be willing to sell?

Thanks,
Caroline
